Ivy is the kind of dog who decides you're her person about five minutes after meeting you.
She landed at the shelter after her owner was hospitalized, and when a networker shared her face, there was something so special about her that we couldn't say no.
She's about 9 years old, 14 pounds, and black and white, with the look of a Boston Terrier x Chihuahua mix.
Her foster describes her as incredibly affectionate. Her favorite thing is when you pet her forehead, and she saves her extra special kisses for those she deems worthy.
She's had zero accidents in her foster home (shout out to grass patches & potty pads!), shows no separation anxiety, and will calmly sleep by the door until her person comes home. Though she started on a dog bed, she has since learned that the human bed is the better deal, and most nights now end with her sneaking up to claim a spot. She uses dog stairs to get on and off furniture, unless dinner is coming, in which case she swan dives onto the floor. In her foster's words, "It is not elegant."
Ivy does a happy dance the second she realizes she's going for a walk, and once she's out, she checks in constantly to make sure she's headed where you want to go. She gets along great with her foster's two small dogs, though she does also like her space.
Ivy has a heart murmur and though no medication is required, she'll need a yearly vet checkup to keep an eye on it. She also prefers fresh or cooked food over kibble, and we can't blame her.
Ivy is looking for a person who will tell her she's a pretty, pretty princess every day, dote on her accordingly, and not mind sharing the bed once she's worked her way up there.
