Meet Abigail! Abigail is an 8-month-old Chihuahua with long little legs, a sleek black coat, and the sweetest tender heart. At just 8 pounds, this dainty girl is small in size but full of quiet charm.

Abigail recently found herself needing a new start after her beloved owner, a senior citizen, had to move into a care home where Abigail could not come along. It is a big life change for such a little dog, and Abigail is still learning that the world is safe and that good things are ahead.

She is a little meek at first, but as she's grown in confidence in her foster home, her HUGE playfulness and velcro side have really come out. With a little patience, gentleness, and time to feel secure in a new home, you will be so happy to meet Abby the firecracker. This little girl will run circles around you and loves when you rub her belly. She adores toys and is a glutton for treats. Abigail also loves to snuggle under the covers.

Abigail loves other dogs and has been friendly with cats, making her a wonderful option for a home with other gentle animals. She also loves riding in the car and would be a darling little companion for someone who wants a sweet sidekick to tag along on life’s quiet adventures. Once she knows her surroundings, Abigail is also fantastic off leash. She has the best recall of any little chihuahua we've had in the rescue!

Abigail is crate trained and doing well with potty training. We are still learning all of her favorite things as she continues to open up in her foster home, but what we already know is that she is soft, sweet, peppy, resilient, loving, and very deserving of a family who will let her blossom.

Before adoption, Abigail will be spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet/the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Abigail's adoption fee is $300, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.
