Meet JAX! When you think of "puppy," you think of Jax! HE IS PICTURE PERFECT!
***JAX is being fostered in Annapolis, MD now and is ready for a meet and greet with any potential adopter!***
He is ~8.5 lbs and estimated to be 13-14 weeks old as of April 26, 2026. In person, he is much smaller than how he looks in the photos! We think he’s a Chihuahua mixed with some sort of terrier and Lab. And yes - that's actually possible! His estimated full-grown weight will be around 25ish pounds (best guess).
Jax's foster mom says he is SO incredibly sweet and cuddly! During his picture session, his feedback was "he just wanted the cheese" - and no, these pictures didn't turn out exactly as we had hoped but we really can't blame him for wanting the cheese first and foremost, and doing what we told him later (haha!). Who really wants to sit and post when a hunk of cheddar is being hung over your head? Not any dog we know!
Jax is being fostered along with his 3 siblings and really enjoys playing with them! He runs around to get his energy out and then promptly collapses and sleeps! A typical puppy! He was also previously fostered with several MUCH larger adult dogs (Bernese!) and was fine with them.
Jax gets along great with children as well. H loved running around the yard with the 5-year old daughter or one of our volunteers! He loves the hustle and bustle. Have a look at the video!
We know he’d be good with cats as well given her age. It's a great time to do introductions!
He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and ready to find his forever home!
Please feel free to email us with any questions about him! See below for application info.

We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority.
Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment are the most important things in caring for a dog.
In addition, we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house-trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopter's home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.
