Meet Henry!
Henry is a sweet and gentle Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is about 6 years old and weighs around 20 pounds. While his past hasn't given him much experience with the world, his loving personality is already shining through-and he's ready for a patient, understanding home to help him continue blossoming.
Henry came from a puppy mill, so many everyday things are still new to him. He's incredibly kind-natured and doesn't mind being picked up at all. He gets along well with other dogs, but he does not require another dog in the home to be happy.
He is still in the very early stages of learning basic skills like leash walking and potty training, as he spent most of his life in a kennel. Because of this, Henry will need a securely fenced yard and a family committed to continuing his training with patience and consistency. The good news is that he does well in a crate and is already making progress. Henry recently had a dental procedure with a few extractions. His future family should be aware that he will likely need ongoing dental care, including possible additional extractions later in life.
Despite everything he's been through, Henry is incredibly sweet and trusting. With time, love, and a stable environment, he is sure to become a devoted and cherished companion. If you're looking for a gentle soul to nurture and watch grow, Henry might be your perfect match.
Henry is being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and his adoption fee is $450.
Henry is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
