ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS - BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED-**MEET AND GREETS AFTER 10/27
**BEING TREATED FOR EHRLICHIA
Meet Bricks! This handsome Cane Corso is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs around 96 pounds. He's a big, strong, goofy boy with plenty of puppy brain and a whole lot of learning ahead of him!
Bricks arrived at our shelter in early October with another dog after spending much of his life confined to a pen. He was severely underweight, weighing just 69 pounds at intake. With proper nutrition and care, he's been steadily gaining weight, filling out, and showing us more of his personality every day.
And what a personality! Bricks is playful, intelligent, curious, and still very much an oversized puppy. He's enthusiastic about exploring his surroundings and has no shortage of energy. He's also learning how to navigate a world that, until recently, was largely unfamiliar to him.
Bricks is going to need guidance with the basics, including leash manners, boundaries, household routines, and everyday experiences. He's a work in progress, but there's a wonderful dog underneath all that awkward puppy enthusiasm. He needs someone who understands that building confidence and teaching good manners takes time, patience, and consistency.
Cane Corso experience is required. Bricks needs a home familiar with the breed's size, strength, temperament, and training needs. He's not a ready-made companion, but he has plenty of potential with the right people willing to put in the work.
Because we have limited information about his previous home experiences, meet and greets are required with everyone living in the household, including children, as well as any resident dogs.
Bricks has already made tremendous progress physically. Now it's time for someone to help him with the rest. He's a diamond in the rough, a little awkward, a lot goofy, and ready for someone to show him what being part of a family is all about.
Bricks is currently being treated for Ehrlichia.
Bricks is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and receiving monthly preventatives.
