Lyra - Black Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Orange, Virginia

**ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS-

**BEING TREATED FOR EHRLICHIA

Lyra is a beautiful 2-year-old Lab mix weighing approximately 76 pounds, with a gorgeous black coat, an infectious smile, and enough puppy energy to keep life interesting!

Lyra is an active, enthusiastic girl who still has plenty of puppy energy. She would benefit from continued work on basic manners, regular exercise, and a consistent routine to help her settle into life as a family companion.

Lyra walks reasonably well on a leash, and now that she's enjoying regular outings, she's doing a great job keeping her kennel clean. She's making progress with a consistent routine, and we'd love to see that continue in a home of her own.

Lyra came to us as a stray wearing a collar, but unfortunately, nobody came forward to reclaim her. Because we don't know her previous living situation, we're still learning about her preferences and what kind of home would suit her best.

What we do know is that cats are not her cup of tea, and she can be reactive toward other dogs. A home where Lyra can be the only pet may be her best fit. Meet and greets with any resident dogs are required, and children living in the household must also attend a meet and greet.

Lyra isn't a finished product, and we're not going to pretend she is. She's a big, energetic girl who needs structure, patience, and someone willing to put in the work. In return, there's a whole lot of personality waiting to become part of someone's life.

Lyra is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and receiving monthly preventatives. She tested positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease, and has received treatment.
