Meet Winnie!
Winnie is a petite 2–3-year-old Beagle mix weighing just 16.5 pounds, and she has decided that her favorite place in the entire world is... your lap.
Winnie was found wandering around a rural Missouri post office. After no one came forward to claim her, she made her way into rescue, where she's discovering what it means to be safe, loved, and spoiled.
This little girl is incredibly social and loves everyone. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is happiest following her people around or curling up in their lap. If you get up, she'll politely remind you that your lap is needed elsewhere.
Because Winnie spent time on the streets, she is not yet potty trained and will need a patient family willing to help her learn. She's doing well with her crate, settling down after a little whining and sleeping quietly through the night. She doesn't try to escape or destroy things.
Winnie is still figuring out toys and playtime, but she's becoming more comfortable every day. She's also working on gaining a pound or two to reach her healthiest weight.
For now, Winnie doesn't need much. She wants love, companionship, and a lap to call her own.
If you're looking for a sweet little Velcro dog who will happily follow you around and shower you with affection, Winnie might be your girl!
You can apply for Winnie at www.bassetandbeagle.org. Her adoption fee is $400.00
