Meet Salami! | 24 Weeks Old | Beagle Puppy | Neutered | 11.4 lbs
A heartbreaking beginning, a hopeful future, and a whole lot of puppy love waiting to happen!
Meet Salami, an adorable young pup who's ready to trade a rough start for a life filled with belly rubs, cozy naps, tasty treats, and adventures with his very own family. At just 24 weeks old, this little guy has so much life ahead of him, and he's looking for someone willing to help him make the most of it.
Sadly, Salami's first chapter was one no puppy should ever experience. He was left behind in a shed with numerous other dogs after the humans abandoned the property. As temperatures climbed, the conditions became dangerously hot, and tragically, not every dog survived. Salami was fortunate enough to make it out alive and now has the opportunity to find the loving home he always deserved.
Another puppy rescued from the same situation is Pastrami. The two may be brothers, although their relationship hasn't been confirmed. Regardless, both deserve the chance to leave their painful past behind and start fresh!
Get to know Salami
We believe Salami is a full Beagle, which means his future family should prepare for a curious little explorer with a powerful nose, a playful spirit, and a serious appreciation for snacks! Beagles are known for following interesting scents and enthusiastically investigating the world around them, and Salami will need a family ready to embrace all the fun that comes with his breed.

What kind of home would make Salami happiest?
Salami enjoys the company of people and other dogs. He's still figuring out how this big, exciting world works, so he'll need a family committed to helping him grow into a happy, well-mannered adult through patience, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement.
A canine companion: We would love to see Salami in a home with a friendly, confident resident dog. Having a four-legged buddy could give him a playmate, a companion, and a helpful example as he learns the ropes. Of course, proper introductions and compatible personalities are important.
What about cats? We don't yet know how Salami feels about feline friends. Because he's still young, he may be able to learn to live peacefully with a cat, especially one comfortable around bouncy puppy behavior. Slow introductions, supervision, and giving everyone space to adjust will be essential.
Children: We recommend a home with children older than 6. Salami is still in his puppy stage, which means he may get mouthy during play and can become enthusiastic when food is involved. Older children who understand how to interact safely and respectfully with a growing puppy are likely to be a better fit.
Room to play: A securely fenced yard is preferred so Salami can explore, enjoy supervised outdoor play, and stretch his little legs safely. His Beagle nose may lead him on adventures of his own if given the opportunity, so secure fencing is especially important!
Time and attention: Salami would thrive with a family where someone is home more often than not. Puppies need plenty of supervision, socialization, playtime, and opportunities to learn good habits. He's looking for people who want to be involved in all the little moments that help a puppy become a wonderful lifelong companion.
Like many Beagles, Salami may find an interesting smell much more exciting than whatever his humans are calling him away from! A secure yard, leash walks, enrichment games, and reward-based training will help keep his curious mind busy and his adventures safe. And don't forget to keep food and tempting snacks out of reach of that future food-loving Beagle nose!
His next chapter starts with you!
Salami has already overcome more than any puppy should have to face. Now it's his turn to experience the good things in life: a soft place to sleep, kind hands to guide him, a doggy friend to play with, and a family who will love him as he grows.
He's neutered, vaccinated, and fecal test negative, with travel to the Pacific Northwest anticipated around October 30.
Salami can't change how his story began, but with the right family, his happiest chapters are still waiting to be written.
