Meet Maxwell!
Maxwell is a sweet 18.2-pound guy looking for a fresh start and a family to call his own.
Max was surrendered by his owner due to health reasons. His previous owner had him for about a year and shared that Max weighed around 10 pounds when he first got him. He's now 18.2 pounds, although he is still quite thin and definitely needs to gain some healthy weight.
Max has a fun, playful side and loves to run around and enjoy life, but when it's time to settle down, he's more than happy to crawl under the blankets and cuddle with his people. He is neutered and reportedly does well with both other dogs and kids. Cats, however, are a little more questionable, so a home without cats may be the best fit for him.
Max's general vaccines were updated on 9/16/2026, and his heartworm test was negative. He'll receive his vaccine boosters on 10/7, and after that he'll be ready to make his way to his new family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
His former owner described Max as being pretty shy around men, but he did wonderfully with a male transport driver, which is an encouraging sign that with a little patience and time, Max can come out of his shell.
This sweet boy has been through a lot of change, and now he's looking for a family who will give him the love, patience, playtime, cozy blankets, and forever home he deserves.
Could that be YOU?

Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
