Meet Starburst
Starburst is a 4-year-old, 30.2-pound beagle girl who is ready to discover just how wonderful life can be when you're loved and cared for.
Starburst came to us as a breeder release alongside her friend Skittles. She and Skittles spent their lives in outdoor kennel spaces, and that is essentially the only life they have known. Their past was not filled with the attention, affection, and comforts that most dogs experience, and now they are getting their first chance to learn what life outside a kennel can be like. It is very likely Starburst will be a good friend to a resident cat as her prey drive has been repressed her whole life.
Despite everything she has been through, Starburst is a very sweet girl who absolutely craves affection. She loves receiving attention and is eager for the kindness and companionship she has been missing. She may still need some time to adjust to all the new sights, sounds, and experiences that come with being part of a family, but her desire for affection gives us hope that she will continue to blossom as she learns that people can be trusted.
Starburst was rescued with Skittles, and the two girls have shared an important part of their journey together. While we would love to see them both find wonderful homes, we're also happy to help someone who has room in their heart for a pair of deserving beagles consider giving them a home together.
Because of their backgrounds, Skittles and Starburst will need adopters who understand that life as a beloved family dog may be completely new to them. Patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and allowing them to adjust at their own pace will be important as they learn about their new world.
Starburst is a sweet girl with so much love to give. After spending her life in a kennel, she deserves to know what it feels like to curl up in a comfortable home, receive affection simply because she is loved, and have a family of her own.
We are still learning about Starburst as she settles into rescue, and we'll update her profile as we learn more about her personality and what makes her happiest.
Starburst's past doesn't have to define her future. She's ready for a new chapter one filled with love, soft beds, gentle hands, and a family who will show her how wonderful being someone's special girl can be.
Please note: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
We do our best to ensure every dog is as healthy and prepared as possible, but we ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust. They are not perfect they are simply in need of patience, understanding, and a second chance.
