Asher VA/MN - Beagle Dog for Adoption in Albert Lea, Minnesota

Asher was originally welcomed into rescue in the Fall of 2021. He came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN from The Greene County Animal Shelter in Ruckersville VA when he was just 6-years of age. He had found himself incarcerated. T Anna reached out to AHFR and asked if we could help. Asher then made his way to Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN. Within three weeks, Asher was vetted and continued his journey to his furever home and family.
He went to a great home; a well adjusted family, where he was considered family. We kept in contact for a couple of years; the "boys" Asher and his fur-brother Renegade, were always doing well.
Recently however, the family dynamics changed. The family split apart and reports of concern were received. Then came the call..."I need to surrender the boys back." A time and date was set, and this past week I made the trip to bring back Renegade and Asher. Both had been kept indoors for 14-18 hours a day, allowing all of their training to dissipate. Renegade was wearing a belly band when we met up. His genital area and belly were urine burned. The "boys" were happy and of a healthy weight. I loaded the boys up and we headed back home.
Asher is 910 years of age. His DOB is 09.09.2015. He will be receiving a dental early July, is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped.
Asher will be available to journey to his furever home on July 12, 2026

Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFR is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFR is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.

Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.

All AHFR adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.

Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.

All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
