Finn — Nine Years of Loyalty, and He Has Got So Much Left to Give
Finn has spent his entire life being someone's devoted companion. He is the kind of dog who curls up in your lap like he belongs there, leans into you when the world feels like too much, and shows up for his people in that quiet, steady way that only a truly bonded dog can. At nine years old, through no fault of his own, he is looking for a new home — and he deserves one that recognizes exactly what he is bringing to the table.
His family loves him. That is actually why he is here. Finn has become increasingly anxious and uncomfortable around young children, and the people who know him best loved him enough to make a hard decision on his behalf. That kind of surrender takes courage, and it tells you everything you need to know about the kind of dog Finn is — one worth sacrificing for.
He is a Shepherd and Beagle mix with a soul that is nothing short of sweet. He still has a genuine spark to him — he loves his walks, he will run outside with enthusiasm, and a game of ball can light him right up. He wants to be included in your day, your errands, your quiet evenings. And when it winds down, he will settle in close beside you like that was always the plan, because for Finn, it always is.
Finn does best in a home with adults, where the energy is calm and predictable and he can finally exhale. He has lived with another dog and done well with the right introduction and match. He does have a mild history of resource guarding around food and toys with other dogs, so a household that can manage that thoughtfully will set everyone up for success. He also lives with chronic pancreatitis, which sounds more alarming than it is — it has been well managed for years with a low dose steroid, a prescription diet, and a probiotic. He is happy, stable, and thriving on his current routine, and continuing it is straightforward.
Finn is not a complicated dog. He is a sensitive one. A loyal one. A dog who has spent nine years giving everything he had to his people and is now simply asking for the chance to do it again — somewhere he can feel safe, settled, and genuinely at peace.
He has so much left to give. He just needs someone ready to receive it.
Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
