Rosa — She Survived the Worst Kind of Neglect. Now She Just Wants to Be Near You.
Rosa was found abandoned on a porch with a severe vaginal prolapse — exposed, swollen, and in significant pain. She had been left that way, untreated, for days. No comfort, no help, no one coming. Just a young dog suffering alone outside and waiting for something to change.
Something changed. We got her. She had surgery. She is recovering beautifully.
And now this girl — who had every reason to shut down, every reason to stop trusting — follows her people from room to room, melts into every cuddle, and looks up with an expression of such open, uncomplicated gratitude that it is almost too much to take in. Rosa did not let what happened to her make her hard.
She is around forty pounds, very much a young pup, and she has the energy to prove it. Rosa is playful, spirited, and genuinely high energy — the kind of dog who wants to run and romp and play hard and then collapse against her favorite person when the tank finally runs out. She is a Velcro dog through and through, but she is not a quiet, curl-up-and-nap kind of Velcro dog. She wants to be with you and she wants to be doing something, and that combination is an absolute joy in the right hands.
A home where someone is around often will give her the connection she craves most. An active home that can actually keep up with her will give her everything else.
Rosa is great with kids. She is dog friendly and would absolutely love a canine companion who can match her energy — a dog she can genuinely romp with, burn energy alongside, and crash with at the end of a long good day. Cats are not her thing. Dog compatibility testing with potential matches will happen once she is fully healed from surgery, which she is doing beautifully.
Right now she simply needs a safe, calm place to finish recovering — somewhere with consistency, gentleness, and the kind of steady love that tells a dog the hard part is finally over.
Rosa is looking for a foster or adopter ready to be that for her. She has already done the hardest part. She just needs someone to meet her on the other side of it.
She has been through enough. Let's make sure what comes next is nothing but good. 🌹
Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
