Meet Stella: The Ultimate Little Engine That Could.
Stella, a beagle/cavalier mix was born to defy the odds. Spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on prevention and all vaccines. Good with dogs, cats, kids.

When she was first found as a stray, she was dragging her back legs behind her. Given how incredibly strong her upper body is, it’s clear she’s been powering through life for quite some time. Our Rescue Animal AID of Mississippi pulled her from the shelter to give her a chance. And she exceeded our expectations!

The Vet Had a Prognosis… She Had a Plan.
We took her to the vet, where X-rays showed an old injury. They believed she would not regain use of her left hind leg.

Stella clearly didn't get that memo.

With a volunteer/rehabber and Stella's no-quit attitude, she showed us all she had different plans for her future. Every day she's showing us her will to walk on her own. Her strides forward have left all of us in absolute awe. She's kicked that wheelchair to the curb!

Unstoppable Spirit: Her resilience is infectious. You cannot be in a bad mood around a dog who looks at a challenge and just decides to outwork it.

Built Like a Champ: Thanks to her history of self-propulsion, she has the upper-body strength of an Olympic athlete and the absolute cutest chest waddle you've ever seen.

Pure Affection: Despite whatever she went through before finding us, her heart is completely untouched by bitterness. She loves people, loves life, and is ready to pour all that love into a forever home.

Stella needs an adopter who will support her ongoing journey with physical therapy, short and long walks, (or just plenty of cheerleading), and give her the cozy, safe landing pad she has earned a thousand times over.

She survived the streets on sheer willpower. Now, she’s ready to live the pampered life she always deserved.

Stella is located in Pass Christian Mississippi, with adoption available to approved adopters within a 200 mile radius. Meet-and-greets are performed prior to adoption either in person or virtually.

Completing an application is the only way to receive a response from our small rescue team.
