Pebbles, 3.5 months (estimated DOB April 2026), female, Australian Shepherd mix, currently 18 pounds and will continue to grow. She is in a foster home in AUSTIN, TEXAS.

Pebbles' story began far from where any puppy should be. She was found abandoned in a rural area outside of Houston alongside her sibling and an adult female dog. They had likely been dumped and were scavenging for food when a compassionate animal advocate spotted them and began searching for help. Thankfully, one of our amazing fosters stepped up and welcomed all three to safety, giving Pebbles the fresh start she deserved.

We believe Pebbles is an Australian Shepherd mix, and she has all the wonderful qualities you might expect from a herding breed puppy—she's intelligent, curious, affectionate, and always eager to explore the world around her. Every day she learns something new and greets life with a happy, playful spirit.

Pebbles is being fostered in a home with other dogs and children (youngest is 5 years old), and she's thriving. She enjoys playing with her canine friends, soaking up attention from her people, and then settling in for a well-earned nap. She is already potty trained and has done well in a crate for short periods, giving her a great foundation for continued success.

Like any young puppy, Pebbles is still learning how to be the best companion she can be. Her future family should be excited to invest the time and patience needed to teach her leash walking, basic obedience, household manners, and continued socialization. These early months are incredibly important in shaping a confident, well-adjusted adult dog.

Because of her age and developmental needs, we are looking for a home where she will not be left alone for more than four hours during the workweek without someone home. Puppies need frequent potty breaks, exercise, training, and interaction to help them grow into happy, healthy adults.

Pebbles would love an active family that will include her in adventures, playtime, and training. An older, well-balanced dog in the home would make an excellent mentor and playmate, though it is not required. She has no known history with cats.

If you're ready to put in the time, love, and guidance that every puppy deserves, you'll be rewarded with a loyal, intelligent best friend who will grow alongside your family for years to come. Pebbles is ready to leave her difficult beginning behind and start the next chapter of her life with people who will never let her down.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
