We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

July, 8 years old, spayed female, Pitbull, 59 pounds. She is in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can transport to an adopter once approved.

Like so many dogs in Texas, this girl was rescued from euthanasia at a county shelter in Houston. She has lived in both an apartment and a house setting and has done wonderful. We are really grateful we were able to save her and hope you consider adding this sweet girl to your home!

July is the kind of dog who makes every day feel a little brighter. This sweet, affectionate girl has a heart as big as her adorable smile, and she's happiest when she's curled up beside her favorite people. Whether she's resting her head on your chest while gazing up at you or soaking up endless back scratches, July is all about love and companionship.

With a moderate energy level, July is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. She enjoys a couple of walks each day, loves playing with toys, and gets the cutest zoomies you've ever seen her slightly awkward run only adds to her charm! Once she's had a little fun, she's more than happy to settle in for cuddle time.

July has met another dog and was incredibly friendly, greeting them with kisses before happily hanging out together. She'd likely enjoy a playful canine companion but is just as content being your one-and-only. She walks nicely on leash with just a little pulling, rides well in the car, and has no reaction when passing other dogs on walks.

She's fully house-trained with no accidents and is comfortable spending time in her crate. July is generally non-destructive, although she may sneak off with an unattended sandal now and then so keeping shoes picked up is a good idea! She's eager to please, responds well to guidance, and would benefit from a little continued leash training.

July hasn't been tested with cats, and while she hasn't spent time around children yet, her gentle, loving nature suggests she'd do well in a family home. Because she's a larger, stronger girl (especially during her happy zoomies), supervised play with very young children is recommended.

Her foster describes her as low-maintenance, affectionate, and someone who truly loves everyone she meets. She'll thrive in just about any home, whether it's an apartment or a house, as long as she has people to love and a cozy spot to snuggle.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will happily lean into every cuddle, make you laugh with her goofy zoomies, and love you with her whole heart, July is ready to meet you.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
