Rumi - Australian Shepherd and Border Collie Dog for Adoption in Fort Collins, Colorado

*We will not be hosting adoption events on Saturday, October 24 or Saturday, October 31. Private adoption appointments for individual animals will be available to pre-approved applicants from October 19 through November 1.*

Rumi is a 1.5-year-old, 40-pound Australian Shepherd mix with a big brain, a big heart, and plenty of fun energy! This sweet, silly girl is incredibly smart, eager to please, and loves learning new things. She's already picked up sit, stay, and come, and is learning something new every day! Rumi would be a fantastic companion for someone interested in trying casual dog sports, teaching tricks, or simply having a clever dog to share adventures with.

True to her herding-dog roots, Rumi is active, curious, and always ready for something fun. She'd love a home that includes her in outings and activities, but she also knows how to relax and enjoy some downtime. She's friendly with people and other dogs, good with kids, and happiest when she's near her humans. She's also house trained (as far as we've seen) and kennel trained, although she may have a little something to say about it before settling in.

Rumi is still young, and her enthusiasm for life can sometimes make her a little bouncy and exuberant! She's already picking up on her manners quickly and is eager to keep learning. With her intelligence and willingness to please, she'll be a joy to train and grow with. And when playtime is over, don't be surprised if this gorgeous, fluffy girl curls up next to you for some serious snuggle time. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, adventurous, and downright fun companion, Rumi might just be your girl!

Rumi is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $500 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Rumi is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. She is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772 or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned.

Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information on our organization please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.
