Amy's story could have ended very differently — this brave little girl was found dodging cars and trucks in the middle of a busy highway until a kind person stopped to save her. Now safe in a loving foster home, Amy is ready to find the forever family she deserves!

At about 12 months old, Amy - we think is a Basenji/classic Cattle Dog — intelligent, eager to please, and full of puppy energy. She's a nice size at 38lbs. She's doing wonderfully in her foster home, where she's already crate trained and house trained. Amy gets along great with other dogs and loves to play and learn new things. She also loves car rides.

She's very affectionate and people-friendly — the kind of pup who wants to be right by your side for every adventure. Amy would thrive with a family who will include her in their daily activities and give her the love, attention, and mental stimulation her smart little brain craves.

If you'd like to learn more about Amy or are interested in adopting this amazing pup, please reach out — she's ready to meet her forever family! We're helping another rescue with Amy, please fill out an adoption application if you'd like to apply for Amy.

The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.

The Basenji is a small hunting dog known for its unique traits, including a highly distinctive yodel like sound instead of a typical bark, and the inability to bark like other dogs. Originating from Africa, these intelligent and curious dogs are independent, agile, and alert, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families with experience handling their assertive nature. Recognized for their clean habits and cat like grooming behavior, basenjis require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving home environment.
