Stella - Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler Dog for Adoption in Houston, Texas

Meet Stella!

Stella is a 13-week-old Blue Heeler mix weighing in at 10 pounds.

Stella is a super sweet puppy cuddle bug but she is also incredibly smart, energetic, and has started herding and nipping, which is classic Australian Cattle Dog behavior. Heelers were bred to herd livestock, and Stella is already proving those instincts run deep! She'll need a home that understands her breed and is ready to channel her smarts and energy through consistent training, mental enrichment, and plenty of appropriate activity.

Stella loves her foster fur brother and would adore another friendly pup in her forever home, or at least the chance to socialize with dogs. She is doing well with potty training but is still confused on leash. Her foster family is working with her and she is catching on fast!

Blue Heelers are loyal, clever, and devoted companions, but they're not typically couch-potato dogs. Stella needs a family ready to invest in training and help her grow into a well-mannered adult. Puppy classes, positive reinforcement, and early socialization will be important so that can she grow into the perfect family companion. Which we know she will because she is pure puppy perfection.

The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
