Meet Blue
Those ears! Those eyes! And that adorable little face!
Meet Blue, a beautiful 7-month-old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix who weighs just 22 pounds and has already stolen the hearts of everyone who's met her.
Blue came into our care after her previous owner experienced ongoing health challenges and could no longer provide the care she needed. Sometimes life circumstances change, and through no fault of their own, wonderful dogs like Blue find themselves needing a new family.
And Blue really is a wonderful little girl!
Before making her journey from Oklahoma to Kansas City, Blue spent several days with a foster family who had four dogs, three cats, and a child.
How did she do?
Beautifully!
Her foster couldn't say enough good things about her!
-Dog-friendly! Blue did great sharing her temporary home with four other dogs.
- Cat-friendly! She also did well around the family's three cats.
- Good with kids! Blue was comfortable around the child in her foster home.
- Doing great with house training! She had no indoor potty accidents during her short foster stay.
- Settles in a crate! Blue whimpered for about 5–10 minutes on her first night before settling down and sleeping quietly.
- Comfortable around her food! Her foster reported that Blue remained relaxed when her food was handled while she was eating.
And perhaps the cutest description of all?
"She reminds me of a baby deer!"
With her slender build, big expressive ears, and sweet little face, we couldn't agree more!
Blue is still a puppy, so her new family should be prepared to continue her training, provide exercise, and help her grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. As a possible Heeler mix, she'll likely enjoy an active lifestyle with opportunities to play, explore, and learn.
But she's already off to a fantastic start!
We think Blue could be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a young, affectionate companion. Her positive experiences with other dogs, cats, and children suggest she has the potential to fit into many different household arrangements.
Blue didn't lose her home because she did anything wrong.
She simply needs someone who can give her the love, stability, and companionship every dog deserves.
At just seven months old, her whole life is ahead of her.
And we're hoping the next chapter includes a family who will love her forever.
Could Blue be your new best friend?
Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 7 months old and she weighs close to 22lbs. She is currently in a foster home in North Kansas City
