Meet Dakota!

Dakota is a Staffy mix who is estimated to be around 5 years old and weighs approximately 65 pounds. He found his way to us as a stray and was not reclaimed by an owner. Now, this handsome boy is hoping to find a forever family of his own!

Dakota is a friendly guy who may have a little something to say when meeting new friends, but he warms up quickly - especially when snacks are involved! He is very treat motivated and loves treats of all kinds! Dakota already knows “sit” and “paw,” and he is always happy to show off his skills when there are goodies involved! Dakota walks nicely on a leash and enjoys taking his time to explore and sniff along the way. When he’s not busy investigating his surroundings, he loves coming over to his human friends for attention and affection. He’s even known to sneak in a kiss or two! With his friendly personality, love of treats, and sweet nature, Dakota has plenty to offer his future family!

Dakota’s ideal home:

* Has potential to live with another dog! A meet-and-greet with any dogs in the home would be required to make sure everyone is a good match.

* Has potential to live with a cat with proper introductions.

* Children 10 and older.

Dakota is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means he can head home with his future family while he waits for his scheduled neuter procedure. Once his surgery is complete, his adoption can be finalized! Until then, Dakota gets to trade his kennel for a cozy home, tasty treats, leisurely walks, and plenty of attention and affection while he settles in and gets to show his new family what a sweet companion he can be.
