Milo - American Staffordshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Dallas, Texas

Milo came from a border town in Mexico where very few dogs get a second chance. He was extremely scared and shut down at first, and only weighed 34 lbs when he was rescued. Now in a foster home, Milo is doing much better and has gained healthy weight—he's now about 55 lbs. He is around 5 years and 5 months old, neutered, up to date on shots, and house trained. He gets along great with other dogs, both big and small, and does best with a dog companion to help build his confidence. Milo is also cat-friendly.

Because of his fearful background, we think Milo would do best in a home without small children. Fast movements and loud noise can overwhelm him, so older kids or an adult home would be ideal. Once he feels safe, he enjoys cuddling and being close to his people. Milo's adoption fee is $350. You can apply to adopt him at: codysfriendsrescue.org or here in this app.

The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
