DESCRIPTION
Meet Zeke!
This gentle giant has always been misunderstood. His owner originally bought him to breed, but he refused to play that role. So at the right old age of three years old, they dumped him in a high-kill shelter in the Carolinas. He was scared and had suffered evident abuse. Akita rescues were begged to take on Zeke and his mate, but no one stepped up. Our rescue took them in, and within a few short months, Zeke blossomed into an amazing, trusting boy.
Fences, doors, and windows couldn't hold him in. He's curious and doesn't like to be left alone. He has no problem with other dogs, unless they're small, and no cats either. For that matter, he'd do best in a home without children probably under 12. He will show barrier aggression through fences if other dogs antagonize him, but he is never the initial aggressor. Zeke will alert you if someone comes to visit, making him a great watchdog. And thanks to his appearance, you can rest assured you're safe with him by your side.
It's time for this beautiful boy to fly! He's approximately three years old and ready for his best friend. Is it you?
Adoption fee: $450. Includes transport to the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast.
