Meet Reggie! This handsome Akita boy has come out of his shell since arriving at the shelter. He is a big strong guy that will need some continued work on his leash skills because we are sure he will turn lots of heads on his walks. He loves yard time, has been seen tossing a fun toy around, and does some perimeter checks when movement is happening around him.

Reggie has many Akita qualities which is why we would like an experienced Akita owner, or one that has owned large breeds similar to him. He sometimes takes a minute or two to warm up to someone new but once he is your friend, he comes in for pets and will let you give him some snuggle time. He will also need some good ole grooming to keep his coat fluffy, and in tip top shape.

Reggie has shown he can be mouthy with others dogs when he plays so a meet is needed along with making sure it is a right fit. We are also recommending a home without small kids due to his size, and for adjustment reasons.
