Meet Newt — also known as Newtie, Newt the Scoot, The Newtster, and Newty McNewty Pants. Somewhere along the way this goofy guy collected quite a few nicknames, and truly - they all fit!
Newt found himself at CBAS and quickly won people over, including our very own director, who brought him home to foster while he got neutered and ready for adoption. Since settling into foster care, Newt has shown everyone what a great houseguest he can be. He is completely housebroken, does well in his crate, and has adjusted nicely to being back in a home!
Newt is a happy, active dog with lots of energy. He loves to run and makes a great jogging partner, happily running right alongside you. He’d also thrive with someone who enjoys playing fetch, backyard games, long walks, or giving him other fun ways to burn off energy. He’s still working on some manners and can get a little excited at times, so we recommend a home with children over 10 years old.
He does very well with other high-energy dogs and absolutely loves to play. However, due to his prey drive, Newt should not live in a home with cats.
One of the best parts about fostering is getting to really learn who a dog is outside of the shelter environment, and Newt’s foster has learned so much about him. If you’d like to find out more information or set up a meet and greet to see if Newt could be a good fit for your home, please email his foster at JButera@buffalony.gov
She’d be happy to share everything she’s learned about this fun, active, lovable guy.
