Lovey (DOB January 2025) is a petite, sleek and slender beautiful brownish-gray girl with a unique mix of tabby stripes and Bengal-like black spots. Her mesmerizing green eyes seem to tell you just how much love she has to give.
Loveys life began in the hardest way. Born homeless in northern New Jersey, she and her littermates struggled simply to survive, and were eventually rescued and placed in a small apartment. Lovey spent much of her early life hiding under blankets and behind furniture, understandably frightened after such a traumatic beginning. But slowly, she found comfort in a feline companion, and the two became best friends.
Then, just as Lovey was beginning to feel safe, tragedy struck again. Her owner passed away after a long illness, and Lovey was left behind. Her beloved feline friend was adopted by another family, leaving Lovey alone in the apartment for several weeks. She became so frightened that she would wait until her daily visitor left before coming out to eat.
Thankfully, Loveys story eventually reached Safe Haven, where she was taken in with open arms - and fortunately things began to change for the better.
Despite everything she has endured at such a young age, Lovey is an incredibly sweet, affectionate and resilient little girl. She may still retreat under her blankets when the room is quiet, but the moment someone new arrives, she quickly emerges to say hello. She will trot right up for pets, reach out her paws for attention, and happily play with her toys. Lovey is super friendly and loving. Her compatibility with other cats is still a little unknown, but since she was best friends with her previous housemate - this is a promising sign that she may do well with the right feline companion and a proper introduction.
Lovey would appreciate someone who will give daily interactive play and plenty of companionship. She would be a great family cat and do well with respectful children. After losing so much, Lovey is finally ready for the one thing she has never truly had: a family of her own. She has so much love waiting to give and will make a wonderful, devoted pet to someone willing to show her that she is finally home!
