Delilah - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Wells, Maine

Just look at that face! Sweet, friendly Delilah is one great cat! She loves her people and lets them know with tiny croaking meows and lots of head-butts. She isn't a lap cat, but she loves to sit right next to her person and soak up all the love she can get. At only 8 lbs., she doesn't take up much room. Like most cats, she likes to play and really loves springs and puffballs. Of course, sleeping and staring out windows are also favorite pastimes.

Delilah came to us through a volunteer who wanted to help a friend find a better home for her. Her favorite person, that friend's young daughter, developed a severe cat allergy over the 6 years Delilah lived with them. So through no fault of her own she is looking for a forever home again. Delilah would prefer a quiet home as she is timid about loud noises and new people. Some patience will be required as she will likely stay in hiding for a while. The good news is she will come to say hello and get some pets within a couple of days, but only within the safety of her base camp. However, once she is comfortable and exploring, she is a constant joy and full of love. Delilah is one happy cat!

We aren't sure how she is with other cats. She didn't live with one in her old home, but while she was in foster for a bit she didn't show aggression towards the resident cats. She would hiss if they weren't respectful of her bubble, but would carry on with her business afterward. If you have a respectful cat at home, we think she'd at worst just co-exist peacefully without any confrontations.

Dogs are also unknown, but we have no observations to go off of to say if she'd be OK with a calm dog or not.
