Purebred Norwegian Forest Cats
Sophie – 11 yr old, Female spayed, Red Tabby, copper eyes, 8lbs, with claws
Nicholas – 11 yr old, Male Neutered, Black, gold eyes, 10lbs, with claws

* Cat friendly: Bonded pair, must be adopted together. Compatible with Gracie, their foster roommate (see note below) or another really chill, sweet cat

GETTING TO KNOW ME

Meet Nicholas and Sophie, an 11-year-old bonded brother-and-sister pair of stunning Norwegian Forest Cats — Nicholas in sleek black, Sophie a gorgeous red tabby, both with the soft, plush coats their breed is famous for.

Life hasn't been easy for this sweet duo. After their person passed away, Nicholas and Sophie — along with their older brother Alexander — spent four heartbreaking months together in an empty house, with no one there to offer daily comfort. By the time they came to PurrHarmony, they knew what it meant to lose everything. It took them a full three months just to feel safe in their foster room. They're tentative by nature, but never unkind — underneath the shyness are two curious, chatty, deeply loving cats who simply needed someone patient enough to let them come around in their own time.

They recently lost Alexander, the bold extrovert who used to lead the way for them, but in true resilient form they've found a new guide in their foster roommate Gracie, a 10-year-old domestic shorthair — a small, bomb-proof, endlessly friendly girl who's shown them the world isn't so scary after all.

Nicholas and Sophie are looking for a quiet, patient home without kids or dogs, with someone experienced in helping shy cats blossom. They don't have a mean bone in their bodies — just tender hearts that need the right person to feel safe again. Give them time, and they promise to give you everything they have.

A note on Gracie: Nicholas and Sophie have found real comfort following Gracie's confident, easygoing lead. If you fall in love with this pair and want to make it a fabulous trio, Gracie's adoption fee will be waived — because a family that could take in all three would be a dream come true. TRANSITION TIPS

Nick & Sophie will absolutely need to start out in a "base camp" room, such as a quiet guest room, in their new home while they become familiar and comfortable with their new people and other pets. They will let you know when they're ready to explore more of the home. Please research bringing home a new cat and proper cat introductions — YouTube has many great Jackson Galaxy videos to help. Foster home will collaborate via phone to help them acclimate. Please have patience during what could be a longer acclimation period.


CARE REQUIREMENTS

* Feeding & water: 4Health Pate. They enjoy a ceramic water fountain.
* Litter: Open-style boxes with unscented PetSmart clumping Grass Seed Litter (one box per cat, plus one extra). An automatic litter box would not be appropriate for them.
* Grooming: Combing once a week and a monthly nail trim.


VETTING PROVIDED
Exams, spayed/neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV & heartworm, senior blood panel, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, and microchipped. Medical records are supplied at adoption completion.


LOCATION AND ADOPTION
Fostered in Valparaiso, Indiana (45 min from Chicago and SW Michigan, 2 hours from Wisconsin, Iowa & Ohio).
Adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair.
