SPECIFICS
Purebred Maine Coons, 1 year old,
Minnie is a Black Smoke Tabby with White, gold eyes, spayed, 10lbs with claws.
Howard is a Red Shaded Cameo , copper eyes, neutered, 15 pounds, with claws.

Cat friendly: must be adopted as a pair, good with another sweet cat or two

Dog friendly: probably with appropriate introductions to a dog that would ignore them

Kid friendly: 10yrs +, cat savvy, respectful children.

GETTING TO KNOW Minnie & Howard
Minnie & Howard are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, purebred, Maine Coons. They have luxurious silky coats, with expressive eyes of gold and copper. Their tails are big fluffy plumes, held high and filled with whimsy. They have silky coats that will require moderate care. At only 1 year old they will not mature completely until 4-5 years old, and they are going to be a big and glorious couple! 

They are respectful and love attention once they are comfortable. They do everything together, and Howard is the lead and more self-confident of the pair.  Once comfortable, they are going to flourish being an integral part of the family. Howard is a professional biscuit maker who takes his biscuit making craft quite seriously and Minnie is the best biscuit making assistant ever.

They like to play together and independently and are very curious and sweet with other cats. A cat savvy kid 10+ would be okay. A dog that would respect and ignore them would likely be fine with slow introductions. They are quite smart and curious and have figured out how to open a bedroom door and a bi-fold closet door! Cat trees near windows to watch wildlife are a huge hit. They are great at using vertical and horizontal scratching posts to stretch.  They absolutely adore people and will happily sleep in bed if welcomed all the while purring loudly. Once comfy and feeling at home they would likely enjoy a stroller ride and quite possibly a harness leash walk in a quiet backyard.

They are perfect with litter boxes, using a huge-Maine Coon Size, open-style box with Worlds Best Litter. They are eating BFF canned for breakfast and dinner. Fresh, clean water is always available from stainless steel and ceramic cat fountains. Proper litter box husbandry means one litter box per cat, plus an extra. If you have multiple levels to your home, please have at least one box per floor for kitty convenience. Please plan appropriately for growth with extra-large and sturdy everything! This couple joined us a little on the chunky side being free fed and now being schedule fed breakfast and dinner has them at a more healthy bodyweight.

Starting out in a room as basecamp with introductions and access to the home should be at a speed acceptable and safe for Minnie & Howard and other pets in the home. Please do your research on proper introductions. It can often take up to 3 months for a cat to feel fully comfortable and integrate into a new family. Patience and understanding are of the utmost importance.

VETTING PROVIDED
Exam, Neutered/Spayed, tested negative for FELV/FIV, FVRCP and rabies vaccinated, and are microchipped.

LOCATION AND ADOPTION
Fostered in Valparaiso, Indiana (45 min from Chicago and SW Michigan, 2 hours from Wisconsin).

Adoption fee for the pair is $1,000.00

PurrHarmony, Inc. does not transport or ship cats. We welcome long-distance adopters. Adopters must travel to the foster home or nearest airport to the foster home (at the discretion of the foster parent.)
