Francois - Himalayan and Domestic Long Hair Cat for Adoption in Vaughan, Ontario

***François hung around a tended neighbourhood colony with many other cats, and was non-reactive in a foster home with other cats. Likely he would enjoy a cat companion who is equally chill and lowkey like himself.

François is a handsome, approximately 4-year-old Himalayan with a gentle and quiet personality. He is a calm, easygoing boy who prefers a peaceful environment and may feel uncomfortable around loud household noises, such as hairdryers and vacuum cleaners. He is a little independent and prefers affection on his own terms.

François has a fairly low energy level and is not inclined to be playful. He occasionally shows interest in toys such as balls and string toys, but is generally more interested in relaxing than playing. He is also very food-motivated and may meow politely to let you know when he is hoping for a meal!

François has a sweet little daily routine. After waking up, he enjoys a good stretch followed by breakfast, he then likes to watch the world go by from the window (he seems curious about what’s happening outside and likes to sneak a peek or explore whenever his humans open a door) and spend some time grooming himself. Once he’s finished, he often returns to the couch for some sweet petting time.

Although François is not a lap cat and does not enjoy being picked up, he will happily sit beside you on the couch. He tolerates gentle petting but is not particularly demanding of affection. One thing he really enjoys is being brushed, making grooming a lovely way to bond with him.

According to his previous foster, François did well around other cats. His experience with children and dogs is unknown.

François has a healthy appetite and currently enjoys wet food three times a day, with dry kibble available throughout the day. He has no brand preference, and enjoys Churu treats, of course!

François came into rescue with matted fur, which has since been shaved, to his great relief! His fur is now growing back beautifully, and he is becoming more gorgeous every day.

François would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a quiet, gentle, and independent companion. He would thrive in a calm home with an adopter who respects his boundaries and allows him to enjoy companionship at his own pace. He may not be the cuddliest cat, but he has his own sweet way of sharing a home with his humans!

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.
