Chanel - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Toronto, Ontario

The newest Chanel has arrived!

A beautiful kitty dressed in a classic yet modern tuxedo style, Chanel has a bit of a rags to riches history. She was rescued as a stray along with her three siblings, who we have nicknamed the “designer kittens,” and brought to EHS for some tender loving care. While she enjoys the good life at the shelter, she is at heart a sweet, shy girl who is learning to trust people and would love to settle down in a home of her own.

ABOUT CHANEL

- Kittens, like Chanel, have lots of energy!
- Chanel is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.
- Chanel is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.
- She prefers to spend her days cuddling with her siblings in the cat cubby—aloof and elegant just like a fashionable girl should be!
- Chanel seems to have a playful side, and she enjoys playing with a ribbon or wand toy with volunteers from the safety of the cubby, but she is still wary about venturing outside of it on her own.
- She loves to be petted either by hand or with a back-scratcher, especially on her cheeks and chin, even purring and rolling over onto her back to show her appreciation.
- Chanel is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up-to-date on core vaccinations.

CHANEL’S IDEAL HOME
- It is important that Chanel either go to a home where there is already a feline-friendly cat in residence, or be adopted with one of her siblings or another compatible EHS cat.
- Kittens require ample and mindful stimulation, through play, from their humans.
- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Chanel settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Chanel with a successful transition to her forever home.
