DESCRIPTION

Meet Kiki!

Kiki is a sensitive, sweet lady who loves to find the perfect cozy nook to curl up for a nap under a blanket (she loves to burrow). She came into our care when she was experiencing stress related to living in a busy household.

KIki can have a hard time with change, so it will be important for her to go to a home that is sensitive to her body language and behavioral needs, and willing to work within her tolerance levels. While she is very sweet when she is comfortable in a new place, she is also independent and likes attention on her terms.

In a new home, being proactive about setting up the environment to reduce exposure to things that she might find stressful will be important. Things like cat shelves added to the walls can be a wonderful addition to your decor. Additionally, cat trees and other elevated surfaces increase the living space available for a cat, helping them feel more confident by being off the floor and giving them extra opportunities for climbing, perching, and surveying the kingdom! Providing ample indoor enrichment will be essential to her being able to exhibit healthy cat behavior indoors, such as playing, climbing and scratching. Additionally, easy and convenient access to her litter box, possibly adding a second litter box, and keeping good litter box hygiene will be high on her list of requests.

She enjoys Churu treats and playtime with toys. She is independent but appreciates calm human interaction. KIki would thrive in a quieter home with people who understand her need for space and predictability and allow her to enjoy life at her own pace.

Cats: Kiki has no previous experience living with cats, but has displayed stress behaviors that can be complicated in multi-cat households, depending on set-up and personality match.
Dogs: Kiki has previously lived with small, mellow dogs. Kiki may do okay with respectful, cat-savvy dogs if there is appropriate space for separation of important resources like food and litter box.
Children: Kiki has previously displayed stress behaviors related to living with children. Kiki is looking for an adults-only home or possibly a home with older, quiet and respectful children.
