A cat with a expressive face and personality to match, Jett is a cat you meet once in a lifetime.
Known in our house as the "Willem Dafoe of Cats" because of his distinctive face, Jett is a companion for someone who sees the beauty in the unique.
I love the little 'mrrrrps' he gives when we notice each other in the room and the way he can get comfortable anywhere! He is always happy to lie down on any surface, as long as he is near you.
If you are looking for a lap cat, that's his favorite place! He loves to snuggle on his humans and soundly sleep for hours. Jett is the life of the party and has been very social with both humans and cats. He reads their cues well and knows when he is welcome in their space or when he needs to give room. He is not a shy guy and isn't one to hide under the bed when guests come over. His favorite toys are wands and ping pong balls.
Jett does have some interesting quirks which took some navigating, but are really no big deal and actually pretty endearing. He doesn't enjoy *some* singing. He doesnt seem to mind recorded music but he emits a little growl and hops off our laps when we sing or hum certain songs. He is back to normal as soon as we stop singing and it isn't a problem.
He also does have chronic rhinitis. All this means is he will always have a little sneeze or sniffle and maybe a little harmless clear discharge from the eyes. This condition is not contagious and he has been living around other cats who have shown no URI symptoms at all. Not for nothing, but he is VERY easy to administer medications to!
He also occasionally hisses to communicate in a benign way. If he doesn't like a flavor of food, he will hiss at it. The first time he encountered a water fountain, he hissed. He also hisses as a way to clear his throat. It's another really silly characteristic about him that we have grown to love!
