Ed - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

ED

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
June 23rd
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

A Silly Social Butterfly!

Ed wins over the hearts of everyone who meets him, even the most cat-wary of people. His social nature, crossed eyes, and silly gallop make him a perfect and entertaining addition to any party!

Ed is a bit like if a sour patch kid became a cat. He may be a little naughty and mischievous, but quickly turns sweet and you forget all about him trying to steal your dinner off your plate.

He loves:
- Food
- The air vent
- Strings, yarn, fishing pole toys, cords, anything that dangles
- Chatting
- Being held like a baby over your shoulder
- Sharpening his claws on door frames
- Lounging on hard surfaces

He does not love:
- Sitting on laps (he prefers to be next to you!)
- Waiting for meals
- Being held without his butt supported
- Too much physical touch

He needs:
- A slow feeder

Ed requires more structure and a little extra attention than the average cat. He will beg for food, and once he gets it, will eat it extremely fast. A slow feeder helps with this. In his quest for food, he jumps onto kitchen counters and is not deterred by aluminum foil. Ed would not be a good fit for a house where food is left out, including in dishes in the sink as he will attempt to eat or lick the food off them, even if it's just oil or crumbs.

------------------------------------

This cat has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives-but it weakens the immune system, causing a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. At PAWS, we believe every pet deserves to live out their life in a loving home for whatever time they have. We hope you'll consider opening your home to this special kitty! FeLV can spread to other cats, so they should live in a cat-free home or with other FeLV+ cats. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FeLV, and you can learn more about FeLV here: phillypaws.org/felv

FeLV+ adopters are also eligible for an Amazon gift card after adoption and this cat's adoption fee is waived.
