Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

SHORTSTOP ROMY

Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
April 26th
female, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Shortstop Romy is a short, stout, and very unique gal, and she's looking for a foster or forever home that is just as special as she is! With her long, low frame and charming little features (including an underbite that is truly to die for), this "Shortstop" is one-of-a-kind.

Shortstop Romy was found as a stray finder only had her for a couple of days before bringing her to the city shelter, but as you can see, she has already wiggled her way into the hearts of all staff and volunteers. And become quite the celebrity while she's at it, and just watch her go here to fall even more in love; https://www.tiktok.com/@phillypaws/video/7631281571852471566?_r=1&_t=ZT-95oElmUhByI!

Due to her fun-sized stature, Shortstop Romy has some mild hip dysplasia and is looking for a home with minimal or no stairs, where she can be as comfortable as possible when getting around. Especially since she may be at higher risk for developing arthritis because of her congenital skeletal abnormalities.

Shortstop Romy may be built low to the ground, but her personality is absolutely through the roof-and she's ready to slide straight into your heart and safe at home! This quirky little all-star is proof that the best players don't need long legs to make a big impact.

If you're in search for the ultimate best friend who will keep you smiling (and laughing) lifelong, submit your application and email us at adoptions@phillypaws.org to learn more about Shortstop Romy!

Looking for some short-term companionship and able to foster Shortstop Romy while she waits for her forever home? Please email us at foster@phillypaws.org for more information!

This dog is considered a mixed breed because it's not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
