Meet Sweetpea — and if ever a name perfectly suited a cat, it is this one. This gorgeous chocolate point bicolor and white Domestic Short Hair mix arrived at the shelter on April 12th, and at approximately 12 years old this precious senior girl deserves so much more than kennel walls. One look at that sweet, gentle face and those warm soulful eyes and it is simply impossible not to fall completely in love with her.
 
Sweetpea is house trained and FIV/FeLV negative and up to date on all of her vaccines — a healthy and gentle senior girl who is ready to walk straight from this shelter into the warmest, most loving home imaginable. At 12 years old she has lived a whole lifetime of quiet devotion, and every single day she has left deserves to be spent in a soft, peaceful place with someone who will cherish her completely.
 
Senior cats like Sweetpea are so heartbreakingly overlooked in shelters, and yet those who open their hearts to a senior will tell you it is one of the most profoundly rewarding things they have ever done. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
