Sometimes animals stay in our care so long that they bond deeply with one of their fellow fosters. Thats exactly what has happened with this odd couple — Grandpa Zach and little Lilah. These two couldnt be any more different but they have chosen each other and who are we to argue with love? Grandpa Zach has been with us for 1.5 years. His elderly mom has dementia and sadly the family who took her in said her animals couldnt come along. Zach is about 8-9 years old so he is a mellow, laidback gentleman who naps most of the day. Little Lilah came to us as a kitten in spring of 2025 so she has quite literally grown up with Zach. Both Zach and Lilah live in our communal cat room at our Adoption Center so they share their space with multiple other cats who come and go regularly. Months ago we started noticing that Zach and Lilah were nearly always together, cuddling up with each other for naps and frequently grooming each other. Zach is easygoing and friendly but Lilah has always been timid and shy with humans. Over time weve noticed that she is most readily approachable when shes beside Zach. His presence calms her and gives her a boost of confidence. Age, size, personality — nothing about this quirky pair matches yet somehow it does. Zach and Lilah may be completely different on the outside but their hearts have connected perfectly. Their relationship is so special and sweet and we would be thrilled if these two could find a home where they could be together forever.
Both Zach and Lilah are fully vetted -- spayed/neutered, microchipped, FELV/FIV negative and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee for the pair is $100. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle. You can apply to adopt by submitting an application at https://sohfga.com/cat-adoption-applications/.
