Gordita is just over a year old and has two very important requirements for her forever home:
1. You must be available for cuddles at all times.
2. Other animals must respect her personal bubble. (She does not respect theirs. That’s different.)
This orange girl is a certified lap kitty and purr machine who would love nothing more than to crawl directly inside your skin and become one with you. She’s a total people cat who adores attention, snuggles, and being close to her humans.
Other cats and dogs? Well, Gordita believes in personal space... specifically, her personal space. If another animal gets too close while she’s not receiving the attention she deserves, she may deliver a well-timed smack to remind them of the household policies.
And speaking of policies, Gordita has boundaries! She’ll happily soak up affection until you pet her incorrectly, exceed your allotted petting time, or otherwise displease Her Orange Majesty. At that point, she may give you a little nip to let you know the meeting has ended. She’s not shy about communicating her feelings, so she’ll need a family who understands feline body language and respects her signals.
Older, cat-savvy kids who understand boundaries would be the best fit. Gordita may do well with other animals who can give her space, but she would also be perfectly happy being the undisputed queen of her castle.
Gordita also has a little medical history worth sharing: she had FIP when she was younger, but she has officially graduated from treatment and is doing wonderfully! Her bloodwork looks good, and she’s healthy and ready for her next chapter.
Her dream home? A human who wants a snuggly, affectionate, slightly bossy orange companion who will love them with her entire being—as long as they follow the rules.
If you’re looking for a cat who wants to be your shadow, your heating pad, your lap warmer, and your tiny orange overlord, Gordita might just be your girl.
*Please note that most of our kitties will only be adopted out in pairs or to a home with an existing cat or furry companion--depending upon what is best for them.
