Meet Sherlock, a sweet and remarkable gray-and-white boy who deserves a chance at the loving forever home he’s been waiting for. Sherlock was rescued from a California shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia, and despite having one eye removed due to a congenital condition, he doesn’t let anything slow him down. He is incredibly smart, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. In fact, he’s already figured out how to open my bedroom door, proving just how clever and curious he is! Sherlock loves exploring his surroundings, discovering new things, and then settling down for a cozy nap near his person. He’s a special little guy with so much love to give, and anyone lucky enough to adopt him will gain not only a wonderful companion but also a resilient, loving cat who has overcome so much and is ready to be someone’s forever family.

Adoption Fee: $250

***Please Note: We do not offer same-day adoptions. If you are interested in adopting a bonded pair or two kittens, please indicate this on your application as preference is given to applicants seeking to adopt in pairs. Please also note that adoption fees are non-negotiable and we do not offer discounts.***

We want adopters to thoughtfully consider the lifelong commitment of a pet. As a volunteer-run rescue, we cannot always process paperwork immediately after meet-and-greets. Most adoptions are finalized within 24-hours.

To help speed up the process, please email a walkthrough video of your home and a list of indoor plants/flowers to adoptioncoordinator@mariospaw.org after scheduling your meet-and-greet.

Our adoption process consists of:
- a submitted application and list of indoor plants/flowers
- in person meet-and-greet
- video walk through of the main areas of your home
- adoption link sent to your phone with our contract where you will pay the adoption fee and receive the medical records sent via email

What’s Included in the Adoption Fee:
Spayed/Neutered (Pets are not adopted without surgery)
Microchipped
FIV/FeLV tested (Felines)
Up to date on FVRCP (Feline) or DHPP (Canine) vaccines
Dewormed and flea-treated

Your adoption fee also helps cover supplies, administrative costs, and vet care for our many medical cases allowing us to rescue more animals in need of extra surgeries, specialist care, and rehabilitation.
