Kelso - Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Hopkinton, Massachusetts

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.

Meet Kelso! Kelso is around 8 months old, 38 pound dog who likely has some Lab in his mix. He was surrendered to one of our shelter partners when they were moving. He is doing well with his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could join families with kids 10+, other dogs, and/or cats.

He might be too barky for apartments!

His foster says, "Kelso walked into my gang of dogs and cats and owned the room! He would be a great candidate for visiting dog parks or group play at doggy day care! Kelso will be down for whatever his people are doing! If you’re enjoying a movie, get him some popcorn! If you’re going for a ride, he gets shotgun! Going walking/hiking, leash him up! He wins at a good game of bitey face every time! He’s learning what “no” means and responds well to snapping my fingers to redirect his attention. He’ll be say to train and easy to teach tricks!

He really has integrated easily into the busyness and chaos at my house. No anxiety, just goes with the flow. He would really enjoy the company of another dog so I wouldnt Want him to go to a home with no doggy friends. He is respectful of my 120lb senior dog and respectful of my 15lbs senior dog. Honestly, I’m surprised how well he’s done with all my dogs and the cats. He doesn’t chase the cats and he’s not rough at all with them, very good with them."
