I did not know yet what gentleness looked like, or that play could feel like freedom, or that the people around me actually wanted good things for me. But I was shown, one quiet day at a time. And here I am now, bumping my head right into your hands because I want your attention and I am not afraid to ask for it anymore. Chasing a fishing-pole toy makes me come alive in ways that people tell me are wonderful to watch. And my eyes, two glowing moons set against silk-black fur, are extraordinary enough that they became my name. Lumi. I am still a gentle, shy soul who needs patience and a pace that is mine to set, but what lives underneath that shyness is real and deep: an affectionate, well-mannered boy who simply had to learn that the world could hold kindness.
