My name is Arry and I was sent out on my own at only a few months old. I was
supposed to fly back to the loft but I got lost and scared and too weak to fly. I
landed near Arrington Lagoon in Evanston, IL. I don’t quite remember what happened but somehow I lost all of my tail feathers, making it even harder for me to get around. I was also really skinny from being unable to find food. Luckily, a kind woman walking by saw me laying in the grass and could tell I needed help. She contacted Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue and a volunteer quickly made her way over to the park. She took me home and I knew I was finally safe. I then moved to the home of another volunteer who helped me get stronger and gave me extra kisses to help my feathers grow back. I am now a big chunky bird with a big beautiful tail. I love to coo, and standing on my brick looking out the window makes me very happy!
Now that I know love and protection, my true personality is coming out, I can
finally be the real me! I love to wrestle and I promise when I use my beak to tug on your fingers it’s because I want to play and your company brings me joy! I really want to be where the excitement is. I am ready to continue learning just how wonderful being a house pigeon is. Please consider making me a part of your family. I am eternally grateful for this second chance at life, and all I need now is to find my forever home.
