Thumper came to us from a local shelter at the end of August of 2026. he is a sweet, laid-back bunny who may need a little time to feel comfortable and show you his personality. Thumper was nervous when he first arrived from a local shelter, but once settled into his pen, he quickly showed his playful side and enjoyed exploring his toys. Thumper would do best with a larger space where he can stretch out, lounge in his hidey, and relax at his own pace. He can give a strong kick when he's feeling unsure, but he is cooperative for grooming and handling when approached gently. As a Lop, he'll also need regular ear cleaning to keep those adorable ears healthy. With patience, space, and a little time to open up, Thumper could be a wonderful companion.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
