Meet Penelope!
Penelope is a sweet and happy 2-year-old Yorkie/Poodle mix who is ready to find a family to call her own. She came into rescue alongside her Pomeranian sister, Hazel, after their owner was no longer able to care for them. When Penelope arrived, it was clear she had been lacking some basic care, with fleas, overgrown nails and a matted coat that needed attention. Despite those challenges, she has remained a loving, cheerful little girl who is eager to embrace the good life.
Penelope is food and treat motivated, which makes her a willing student when learning new things. She has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners in her foster home and continues to settle nicely into a routine. While she isn't particularly fond of being crated, she is learning that it can be a safe and comfortable space with consistency and patience.
This adorable girl does well with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats. Because of her small size and gentle nature, she would do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a petite companion.
As a Yorkie/Poodle mix, Penelope will require regular professional grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. She is not a good fit for a tether or invisible fence and will need a securely contained environment to keep her safe.
Penelope is looking for a family that will provide the love, care, and commitment she deserves for the rest of her life. In return, she'll offer plenty of affection, companionship, and tail wags. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
