Meet Parker!
At 7 years old and just 7 pounds, Parker may be tiny, but she has enough personality to fill an entire room. This adorable Yorkshire Terrier is a sweet, social little lady who found herself in rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. Now she's ready to find a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life.
Parker has never met a stranger. She loves people, enjoys attention, and is always happy to make new friends. Whether you're a longtime companion or someone she just met five minutes ago, Parker is convinced you are there specifically to admire her. She thrives on affection and loves being included in daily life.
Despite her petite size, Parker has lived successfully with a large breed dog and gets along well with other dogs. She also has no issues with cats. While she enjoys canine companionship, her favorite place is wherever her people happen to be.
Parker would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a small dog. Though she is sturdy in spirit, her tiny size means she could easily be injured by rough handling or accidental falls.
One thing Parker would like you to know is that she firmly believes all human food should be shared with her. While she will happily beg for a bite of whatever you're eating, her future family will need to resist those adorable eyes and keep her on a healthy diet.
At bedtime, Parker would much rather snuggle under the covers than sleep alone. She loves sleeping in bed with her people and being close to those she loves. She is crate trained, although she may voice her opinions about being confined from time to time. Truthfully, Parker has a good understanding of house manners and does not necessarily require a crate in her daily routine.
Parker enjoys car rides, leash walks, and exploring the yard. She still has plenty of pep in her step and loves running through the grass when given the opportunity. Because of her size, she is not a good candidate for a tether or invisible fence system and will need a secure, safe way to enjoy outdoor time.
Like many Yorkies, Parker isn't exactly enthusiastic about grooming appointments, but regular grooming will be important to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. She may not appreciate spa day, but it's simply part of being as cute as she is.
Parker is looking for a family that will appreciate her sweet nature, laugh at her sassy opinions, and spoil her with love—not table scraps. If you're searching for a loyal companion who loves people, enjoys life's simple pleasures, and still has plenty of spunk left, Parker may be the perfect addition to your family.
She's ready to find the family that will love her furever!

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
