Nigel is a friendly, well-behaved, happy boy who loves snuggles and playing fetch, and seems genuinely grateful for the simple comforts of life: two regular meals, a soft bed, and someone who will give him a good ear scratch.
Nigel does well with both dogs and children. He's comfortable around other dogs, although he actually prefers entertaining himself rather than wrestling and playing with his canine friends. If another dog starts barking, Nigel may join in-he doesn't want to miss out on the fun!
He has basic training, learns quickly, and is eager to please. He does well on leash and in his crate, making him a pretty easy guy to live with.
Nigel also has some lovely house manners. He doesn't regularly climb onto the couch or your bed; instead, he waits for permission. One of Nigel's favorite routines is watching the squirrels after his morning meal. He has figured out that breakfast followed by free squirrel entertainment is a pretty wonderful way to start the day.
Nigel does have a history of pancreatitis and will need to remain on a low-fat diet to help keep him healthy. His future family should be prepared to continue that diet and work with their veterinarian on his ongoing care.
Otherwise, Nigel is just a wonderfully sweet, uncomplicated companion who seems to have discovered that life is pretty good when you have a full belly, a soft bed, and people who love you. Apply to meet Nigel today!
