Scrappy Dan - Yorkshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Houston, Texas

At just 2 years old and 12 pounds, Scrappy Dan has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Rescued from the euthanasia list after being found covered from head to toe in open wounds and in need of an FHO surgery, Scrappy's story could have made him wary of the world-but instead, he's chosen to embrace it.

While he can be a little shy when first meeting new people, Scrappy doesn't stay a stranger for long. Armed with a few tasty treats, you'll quickly find your way into his circle of friends. This little guy is incredibly food-motivated, which makes him an excellent candidate for training once he's fully recovered and ready to take on new challenges.

Scrappy is currently working on his potty training and leash skills and is making great progress. With a consistent schedule and continued positive reinforcement, he's well on his way to mastering both.

One thing you'll never have to wonder with Scrappy is how he's feeling. He loves being the center of attention and has no problem letting you know when he thinks he's being overlooked. If the pets stop or the spotlight shifts elsewhere, he'll happily voice his opinion with a few adorable whines and grumbles until he's back where he belongs-front and center.

Scrappy Dan is proof that resilience comes in small packages. He's looking for a family that will continue helping him heal, spoil him with affection, and appreciate his larger-than-life personality. In return, he'll provide endless entertainment, companionship, and plenty of reasons to smile.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.
