Meet Louie
Part Yorkshire Terrier. Part Pomeranian. Part fox? Whatever the combination, the result is magnificent and we are here for it.
This 3-year-old, 16-pound dynamo has been in foster care for a short while and has already made his personality very clear. He is a love bug. He is an outdoor enthusiast. He is fast — genuinely, surprisingly fast — and he has opinions. Many of them. Loudly expressed.
- Louie runs on two speeds: full throttle and cuddle mode. Take him on a big hike or a long walk, let him absolutely demolish the outdoors, and he will come home and demand scratches and belly rubs with the confidence of someone who has earned them. Because he has.
- He will follow you everywhere. Everywhere. The kitchen, the bathroom, the backyard, the hallway for no reason. You wanted a shadow? Louie IS the shadow. A very fluffy, fox-faced shadow who requires attention and is not subtle about it.
- He is not food aggressive — a genuinely lovely quality that we appreciate and want to highlight among his many spirited personality traits.
Now, in the spirit of full transparency, Louie also comes with some equally strong preferences:
- Cars — not a fan. We don't know what cars did to Louie but he has not forgiven them and is not ready to discuss it.
- Small kids, head pats, and feet — also not his thing. He'd do best in a home with older kids or adults who understand that personal space is a two-way street.
- His crate and leash — these are his. Do not touch them. He will let you know.
- His voice — Louie has one and he uses it freely, joyfully, and without apology.
Louie is not a beginner dog. He's a personality — the kind that fills a room, keeps you on your toes, and makes you laugh every single day. He needs someone who loves the outdoors as much as he does, appreciates a dog with opinions, and understands that the belly rubs are not optional.
In return? He will adore you completely, follow you loyally, and bring the kind of chaotic, fox-faced energy that makes life genuinely more interesting.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
