This includes our standard adoption fee of $395 plus an additional required $300 tax-deductible donation. Why the additional donation? Dogs with highly desirable traits-such as low-shedding coats and popular breeds-help us fund lifesaving care for dogs who need it most, including nursing moms, imaging and surgeries for dogs with traumatic injuries, and medications for those requiring lifesaving heartworm treatments. Meet Haley, a fluffy little Pomeranian-terrier mix who is discovering just how wonderful the world can be. Haley was timid when she first arrived, but she has made great strides in a short time and is becoming more confident every day. Sit down beside her and she'll quickly come over to say hello, and once she knows you, she loves being held and snuggled.

Haley is a sweet, silly, playful girl who especially enjoys spending time outside. In the backyard, she loves exploring, running around with the big dogs, and joining them when they investigate the latest squirrel or other "intruder." Despite all that activity, Haley is an exceptionally quiet little dog-her foster hasn't heard her bark once! She sleeps quietly in her crate all night, has no accidents in her crate, and is doing well with her house training when kept on a regular schedule.

Haley has also discovered that her open crate makes a wonderful safe space, and she often chooses to relax there when she wants some quiet time. She is still apprehensive about loud noises and isn't quite ready to confidently take on the wider world just yet. Her first attempt at a walk was overwhelming, so she will need a patient adopter who is willing to let her build confidence at her own pace.

With a little patience, encouragement, and plenty of love, Haley is blossoming into a wonderful fluffy companion. She may need some time to feel brave, but once she does, her sweet and playful personality is well worth the wait.
