Simba's story started in an overcrowded South Florida shelter, but he hasn't let that dim his sunny outlook on life. This happy-go-lucky guy greets every day like it's the best day ever, and he's hoping his next adventure is with you.

Simba is a social butterfly who has loved playing with other dogs. He brings enthusiasm to everything he does, whether it's zooming around the yard, making new friends, or showing off his athletic abilities. Speaking of athletic abilities... while most dogs politely take the stairs, Simba has decided they are optional. Four porch steps? One graceful leap. Why take four strides when you can look majestic?

He's already mastered sit and down, and with a few tasty treats, he's eager to learn more. In fact, Simba may have missed his calling as a professional model. Pull out a camera, wave a snack, and suddenly he's serving poses like he's auditioning for America's Next Top Dog Model. Tyra Banks would be impressed.

When Simba gets excited, he has an adorable little "ahhhwu" bark that is guaranteed to make you smile. It's his way of saying, "Life is amazing, and I think you should know about it!"

Simba has spent time around respectful children ages 3 and up. Like many young dogs, he occasionally forgets that he's not lap-dog-sized. His enthusiasm has resulted in either accidentally knocking over a toddler or enthusiastically covering one in kisses. (The toddler was not nearly as excited about this arrangement as Simba was.) Because of his youthful energy, he'd do best with a family that can help him continue learning polite manners.

In foster care, Simba was crated at night. While he didn't exactly send the crate a glowing five-star review at first, he settled down after about 10 minutes and kept his crate clean for a full eight hours overnight.

Simba is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so he's ready to start his new life today.
